Polished style. Crude humour.  Hilarious.  (Thanks for pointing this out, Jon!)    <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kukuburi.com\/\">Kukuburi<\/a> &#8211; Start at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kukuburi.com\/2007\/08\/09\/one\/\">the beginning<\/a>.  Elaborate style.  Adventure.  Bit of a slow start.  Actually the plot&#8217;s still unravelling, but the art is pretty and the story is getting interesting.  (By the same guy as BNS.) <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.octopuspie.com\/\">Octopus Pie<\/a> &#8211; Start at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.octopuspie.com\/index.php?date=2007-05-14\">the beginning<\/a>.  Well written.  Funny.  Simple style.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basicinstructions.net\/\">Basic Instructions<\/a> &#8211; Start <a href=\"http:\/\/www.basicinstructions.net\/2008\/03\/how-to-rationalize.html\">Anywhere<\/a>.  Sterile &#8220;<em>instruction manual illustration<\/em>&#8221; style.  <em>*gasp!*<\/em>  Kinda wordy, but has its moments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Some fascinating <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/\">TED<\/a> videos I&#8217;ve been watching<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/index.php\/talks\/view\/id\/206\">Colour and pattern changing sea life<\/a> (the octopus is amazing!)  All the following videos were in the &#8220;related&#8221; section.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/index.php\/talks\/view\/id\/77\">The Mantis Shrimp will kick your ass<\/a>.  I remember my diving instructor pointing one of these little guys out to me, but warning not to get too close, because it could crack my mask.  \ud83d\ude2e  <em>Very<\/em> cool.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/index.php\/talks\/view\/id\/126\">The odd Mola Mola fish<\/a>.  Great presentation and presenter.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/index.php\/talks\/view\/id\/145\">The life of ant colonies<\/a> from someone who&#8217;s been studying them for <em>20 years<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Some books I&#8217;ve been reading<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.ca\/search?ie=UTF-8&#038;oe=UTF-8&#038;q=python+essential+reference+3rd+edition\">Python &#8211; Essential Reference<\/a> by David Beasley: This book is exactly what it says; an <em>essential reference<\/em>.  The first section is an incredibly concise introduction to Python and should be read by everyone.  The rest is nice to scan over to see what&#8217;s available and keep as a reference.  I&#8217;d compare it to the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_C_Programming_Language_(book)\">K&#038;R C programming book<\/a>.  This book is meant for programmers.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.ca\/search?hl=en&#038;q=the+design+of+everyday+things\">The Design of Everyday Things<\/a> by Donald Norman: Pretty much considered required reading material for usability folk.  Well written, lots of examples, and often entertaining.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.ca\/search?hl=en&#038;q=Character+Design+for+Mobile+Devices\">Character Design for Mobile Devices<\/a> by NFGMan: I&#8217;ve looked at every beautiful, full-colour page.  Some great pixel art and history in here.  But I&#8217;ve read almost nothing.  I didn&#8217;t really get it to read, I guess.
